Testimonials

 - Nadja Wallington -

Winemaker, Philipshaw Wines

What impact did this program have on you – personally and professionally?

The Future Leaders sessions radically changed my approach to tackle problems and gave me the chance to review how to set up personal and professional life goals. Plus, I had the opportunity to meet some pretty spectacular human beings along the way, who are motivated by the very same goal: make our wine sector better.

What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about applying?

Just do it: submit an application. Don’t think about the time you need to set aside in case you get selected, because what you will get out of it will make it all worth it!

What impact did this program have on you – personally and professionally?

This course had a huge impact on me both professionally and personally. We discussed issues such as what personal impediments do we each put in the way of making progress, how do we develop and maintain great culture in our businesses and how to have tough conversations. But most importantly from the future leaders course I have made life-long friends who work in all aspects of the industry.

What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about applying?

I received some great advice from a friend who had said that I should keep applying for the future leaders course as it is competitive and most people don't get it the first time around.

What impact did this program have on you – personally and professionally?

The Future Leaders program provided me with an opportunity to learn and grow with likeminded people from across the Australian wine community. This has increased my ability to explore new opportunities with others and helped me to better navigate life’s challenges.

What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about applying?

Put your best foot forward as there is nothing lost from applying. An important part about being engaged in the wine community is participation. When preparing your application, remember to present the real you because the first step to becoming a leader is to know yourself.

Professionally, it strengthened my networks as well as giving me a really broad understanding of the industry. It made me feel more responsible for the direction of our future and showed me paths to get on and actually help shape that future.

What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about applying?
Give some thought as to what you would like to get out of it, be very open to all the experiences if you do get accepted, and enjoy the hell out of it.
